Project CHERISH One to One Children's Fund is sponsoring a trauma healing programme in primary schools in Israel (Acco) and Palestine (Bethlehem), known as CHERISH (Child Rehabilitation Initiative for Safety and Hope), a unique collaborative effort of Israeli and Palestinian psychologists, psycho-social workers and public health experts. A visit to London in March by distinguished Palestinian and Israeli academics who jointly run this unique project treating children for trauma-related symptoms, on both sides of the divide, raised nearly £40,000 for a pilot in three primary schools. The programme of screening and counselling in Acco and Bethlehem aims to help children develop normally even under the conditions of conflict.
