PATA 2008 takes place from 27 November to 1 December, World Aids Day, in Rwanda. Our 2007 forum was recently held in Swaziland, one of the countries worst hit by AIDS. Paediatric AIDS Treatment for Africa (PATA)is a One to One Children's Fund initiative that links some 70 child HIV clinic teams from some 20 countries to develop professional capacity to cope with the epidemic in a ripple across Africa. We are helping child medical treatment in South Africa through initiatives in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape

Kosovo has declared independence but the entire population is still deeply traumatised by the psychological consequences of years of political turmoil and war.
One to One Children's Fund, is bridging a critical gap in psycho-social services by providing more than 4,000 counselling sessions each year, from its two counselling centres in Kosovo, with outreach to 35 schools and 50 villages. One to One is also promoting co-existence in the region, training health and social workers to counsel children and families from all ethnic groups, who are most at risk.
A visit to London in March by distinguished Palestinian and Israeli academics who jointly run a unique project treating children on both sides for trauma raised nearly £40,000 for a pilot project in three primary schools. The programme of screening and counselling in Acco and Bethlehem aims to help children develop normally even under the conditions of conflict.
